Honeoye Falls - Lima October 13, 2024 at age 84. He is survived by his loving wife Cora "Cookie" (Dieter) Curren; daughters Jeannette Ryan, Jeannine (Robert) Smith, Tracy (Raymond) Gills; grandchildren Jessica (Jocelyn) Burroni, Justin (Corianne) Smith, Jennifer (Donald) Lappe, Meagan Ryan, Hannah Gills; great grandchildren Colton Smith, Henry Lappe; several nieces and nephews.

Mel was predeceased by his sister Carolyn Nichols; grandson Michael Ryan; granddaughter Stephanie Ryan.

Mel was a member of Lima Baptist Church (Crossroads Church) and served on the Board of Lima Christian School for several years. He and his wife were foster parents for many years. Mel loved to spend time with his family and would be willing to help anyone. He loved car museums, and NASCAR.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 2 - 4pm at the O'Connell - Dougherty Funeral Home 2041 Lake Ave., Lima where his memorial service will be held following calling hours at 4pm. Private interment. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Advent House 1010 Mosely Road Fairport, NY 14450 or Honeoye Falls - Mendon Volunteer Ambulance 210 East Street Honeoye Falls, NY 14472 in his memory.
