Joan D. Reid (Dutton) Avon January 2, 2024 at age 87. She is survived by her children Timothy, Jonathan, Brian, Matthew (Lori) Reid; grandchildren, William, Sarah Reid; sisters Mary Crysler, Dorothy Hanzlik; brother James (Victoria) Dutton; several nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her daughter Kristine Reid; son, Christopher Reid. Joan was a OR nurse for 35 years at Strong Memorial Hospital, and also worked for 12 years at the Avon Nursing Home. She was an EMT for the Avon Ambulance many years ago. She was active in St. Agnes Church where she served on the pastoral council. She served as curator and was active on the board for the Avon Preservation and Historical Society. She received the Avon Area Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Year Award" in 2015. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 4 - 7 pm at the Stephenson - Dougherty Funeral Home 350 Genesee Street, Avon. Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 10 am her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Church, Avon. Interment Lyonsburg Cemetery, Bliss, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
