J. Peter Yendell Obituary (1943

John "Pete" Yendell Lima - Formerly of Lima passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024 at age 80. Pete is survived by Carol, the love of his life of 60 years; Daughters Jody (Brian) Mahoney, Michelle (Jeff) Fraser; 4 grandchildren Kyle (Emily) Lee, Jake (Molouk) Lee, Dakota (Lauren) Fraser, Kasey Fraser (Chris Swarthout); 3 great grandchildren Henry and Grace Lee, and Addison Fraser; sister Joyce Sackett; brother-in-law Steve (Cathy) Kennedy; sister-in-law Marilyn (Bill) Palmer; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Pete worked at Eastman Kodak for 39 years in Human Resources. He was the Mayor of Lima from 1984-2001, Lima Town Supervisor from 2002-2017, Lima Fire Deparment member for 45+ years, member of the Masonic Lodge, and Shrine and Inducted into the Honeoye Falls-Lima Hall of Fame in 1999. Pete had a strong passion and love for his family and friends. He enjoyed his summers in the 1,000 Islands fishing, golfing, boating and happy hour under the tree. He was always there to lend a hand or listen. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. Pete was predeceased by his sisters Joan Frankenberger, Janice Yendell. To celebrate Pete's remarkable life, join us for a celebration of life on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 2 - 4pm at Fanatics Pub 7281 West Main Street, Lima. Private interment at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 33607 in his memory.
