Helen C. Forrest

Forrest, Helen C. Avon: March 7, 1932 - August 26, 2013. Originally from Mt. Union, PA and longtime resident of Avon. She is predeceased by her parents, Otis and Susie Crawley; brother, Otis and sister, Annis Vanterpool. She is survived by her daughters, Janice (Calvin) Stewart, Jeanine (Lloyd) Knight, Jeannette Affini; granddaughter, Amina Affini; her sister, Dorothy Allen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Helen was a graduate of Mt. Union High School in Mt. Union, PA and Continental Beauty School in Rochester. She owned a beauty salon - Helen's Style Inn in Avon for 20+ years and was also a server for many years at Denny's and Friendly's Restaurants. Helen was an avid reader and in later years loved certain TV shows - Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Antiques Road Show and COPS. She loved life, loved people, was a good friend to many and the best Mom ever to her children. Calling hours are Friday August 30 from 4-7 PM at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 350 Genesee St., Avon. Her Service will be held Saturday August 31 at 10 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Epiphany, 6050 Avon-Lima Road, Avon. Interment will be on Tuesday September 3 in Mt. Union, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
