In every obituary, there are the facts.

Rush-Henrietta HS grad, multi-sport athlete, proud military veteran, enlisting in the Marines in 1954 and served until 1957, achieving the rank of sergeant, stationed at Cherry Point, NC. Received his Bachelors degrees in math and physics from the University of Rochester in 1961, JD from Boston College Law School and was admitted to the bar in 1967. Served in the Marines. Worked for Kodak, Sylvania, General Automatic, and IBM, before truly finding his groove as a golfer who supported his game with a successful personal injury law practice. He worked hard. He was ethical. He was fair. He was trust-worthy.

But in every life, there are the stories.

Holding Rose Kennedy's purse during a delayed flight from NYC to Chicago before Secret Service realized that no, in fact, he was not her personal assistant. Antics with his siblings and The Cousins. Marathon card games at family gatherings. With Mom, perfecting the RV driver switch going 75 MPH down I-95. Feats of skills (or not) on the first 18 holes. Revisionist history on the 19th. Negotiating each of his 65+ car purchases. DIY experiments that succeeded. DIY experiments that - well - did not. Road trips to South Bend for football, Colgate for water polo, and Nazareth for soccer. Mayhem with the grandkids. Friends from Southboro (MA), Seneca Falls, Elgin (IL), Livonia, Ashville, Owego, Lima and Avon.

If family, friends and golf were his loves, his quiet generosity was his love language. You won't find streets named after C.A., or buildings, or scholarships. But you will find hundreds of people who can point to a moment where his kindness, his counsel, his generosity changed their lives. The gift of time, of attention, of resources. And, in one of our family's saddest moments, he and our mother quite literally gave the gift of life.

Please join us and share your stories of Dad as we celebrate his life.
