LIMA - September 19, 2020 at age 90. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Joanne (Harrington) Magar; children, Mark (Linda) Magar of NJ, Martha Butler of OH; brother, John Magar; grandchildren, Matthew Magar, Barbara Lusk; great grandchildren, Jesse, Tucker Lusk, Wayne Mahaffy; niece, Linda Coon, nephew, Joseph Kalb; many great nieces and great nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy and Esther Magar; brother, George Magar; nephew, Dr. John Kalb.
Ray was a district manager and worked for and retired from the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper. Ray was a community minded person. He was past President of the Lima Senior Citizens, former member of the Lima Fire Department and Rotary, member of the Advisory Board for the Livingston Co. Office of the Aging, and Triad. As well as past president of the Livingston Co. American Heart Association.
His Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 11AM at St. Rose Church, Lima. Interment with military honors at St. Rose Cemetery, Lima. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lima Food Pantry, PO Box 556 Lima, NY 14485.
