Rush: January 19, 2017 at age 94. Predeceased by his loving wife, Carolyn of 67 years; brothers, Stewart, Clarence “Doc” Watson and sister, Doris Peck. He is survived by his children, John (Kathy Chapman) Watson, Douglas (Mary Lynn) Watson, David (Debra) Watson, Karen Watson, Thomas Watson, Paul (Meagan Davis) Watson; special daughter-in-law, Rebecca Watson; grandchildren, Douglas, Jr., Carrie, Nicholas, John, Timothy and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Coral, Colton, Haley and Abigail; sister, Isabelle Rodwell; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family.John grew up and lived in the South Avon Geneseo area and served as a Medic in the Navy during WW II. John was a great father who loved the outdoors, farming, fine food and reading. He enjoyed traveling and had many grand adventures with his family. He always had a smile and quick wit with all that he met.Friends may call Monday 4-8PM at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 350 Genesee St., Avon, where his Funeral Service will be held Tuesday 2PM.
